Ant Hire Solutions – A safety-first culture

As part of our continuous improvement journey as a business, we’ve implemented specific systems and procedures to help our staff report improvements they feel will enhance our operations and further embed our health and safety culture into every aspect of the working day.

As winter approaches, slip, trips and falls are more likely as these are the number one cause of workplace accidents. We recognise the opportunity for this, as we have had several near misses logged.

To mitigate any future slip risks, a designated walkway was introduced into the warehouse and our workshop team have had ‘toolbox talk’ sessions to ensure the walkways are always clear and safe. This simple adaptation to our warehouses has reduced slip risks and increased the overall awareness of our team on being more health and safety focused.

We actively encourage everyone in the team to report near misses and put forward ideas for making our workplace safer. We log all near misses on an improvement register which is reviewed by in real-time so incidents can be actioned immediately, with corrective action being taken to swiftly prevent any further near misses.
