Pipeline Flow Control

Lampe

Overview

Expertly manufactured in Germany, Lampe stoppers are most suitable in large diameter pipes where safety and reliability are the highest priority.

They maintain full contact with pipe walls even when the inflation pressure falls to just 0.1 bar, reducing the risk of the stopper being ejected from the pipe in the event of pressure loss. Traditional pipe stoppers typically require a much higher pressure to create a seal against the pipe walls and shorten in length as they do so, reducing the surface area in contact with the pipe. If pressure is lost, they can quickly lose contact with the walls and be ejected from the pipe at force.

Lampe stoppers are highly versatile and can be used in a range of pipe shapes and sizes. They are suitable for a variety of pipe profiles, including circular, square, elliptical, rectangular, and ovoid. They are also designed to be used over a wide range of diameters, making them a flexible option.

Benefits

  • Fully secured at low inflation pressure of 1bar
  • Contact with pipe walls at just 0.1bar
  • No need for additional bracing on pipe diameters greater than 1m
  • Suitable for all pipe profiles
  • Highly resistant to chemicals
  • Lightweight
  • Can be folded tightly, allowing it to fit through standard access points (600mm x 600mm)
  • Rigorous testing & certification before each hire

Safety Application
Monitor

The safety application monitor, or SAM device, has been expertly designed by AHS to provide a multi-stage warning system in the event of inflation pressure loss. If the pressure changes, it activates both an alarm and flashing beacon designed to alert the site team.
